Fiskars Design Village
touring exhibition in Japan 2006

The Designers, Artisans and Artists of the Fiskars Co-operative is touring Japan with an exhibition during the latter half of 2006. The Fiskars Design Village exhibition has been realised as a Finnish-Japanese joint project. The Finnish exhibition managers are industrial designers Barbro Kulvik and Antti Siltavuori.

The initiative for this Fiskars Design Village exhibition came from Japan. It tells the story of the village of designers, artisans and artists by showing their products, three-dimensional works and pictures. The emphasis of the exhibition is on works that show the skills of the members of the Co-operative. It will also include a section telling the history of Fiskars Village which grew up around the former ironworks.
